AC Split system - how it is right for you?

AC Split Systems - Air Conditioners and Furnaces Combined

What are Split Air Conditioners?

Split air conditioners are popular, especially those with a heat pump. However they also work in reverse, and they can heat in the winter and the summertime work as an air conditioner. AC Split systems look the same as standard air conditioners and most people don't know the difference between a split air-conditioner and a regular air-conditioner.

How Does a Split Air Conditioner work?

In the winter time, an AC split system  actually works in reverse, and it takes the heat from outside and puts it into your house. However, down to -10° and below it does not work anymore and you need a backup system since it cannot pull the heat from the outside at such a low temperature.

A propane high-efficiency furnace can work with a heat pump coil on top. A lot of people these days take oil furnaces out, and put in a high-efficiency propane furnace. Often we take the furnace out or the oil tank, and put in a propane high-efficiency furnace with the AC heat pump coil on top. Another option is adding standard air conditioning with a furnace.

Other popular items this season are central air conditioning units. It’s commonly seen as a big box unit outside of a house with a big fan on top. You can see them everywhere, and then there's a matching coil like those on a furnace.

We will also prepare duct work and have many options.
